Cosmopsychology is psychology in relation to the universe--the study of the relationship between the psyche and the cosmos. It has been defined as astrology, as the study of psychospiritual development, and as the psychology of extraterrestrial beings. Cosmopsychology provides insights into one's personality and destiny through the contributions of psychology, physics, metaphysics, astrology, numerology, and similar sciences and philosophies that reveal the meaning of one's experiences in life. Cosmopsychology assumes that human beings are more than the product of their genes and environment, that they are essentially spiritual beings who are multi-dimensional, composed of many parts and connected to many dimensions of the cosmos. Cosmopsychology examines those parts, links, and dimensions that are typically left out of conventional, traditional, and academic psychology.
From the perspective of cosmopsychology, one’s personality is a purposeful part of a series of existences. One’s personality and experiences serve the purposes of a higher or greater Self. Personality and psychological problems cannot be fully understood and appreciated outside of this expanded, cosmic context. The purpose of cosmopsychology is to facilitate the personality’s service to the higher Self through understanding the personality’s place within the greater context of the Self and the cosmos.
Spiritual Beings in a Spiritual Universe
It's been said that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. To understand more fully our work as spiritual beings, we must have a basic understanding of spirit, spirituality, and spiritual growth or development. You can find more information about these topics at Spirituality.
According to the Hermetic tradition, there are seven fundamental spiritual laws that describe the universe. The first law is that the universe is spirit. Everything in the universe is spirit including what we call the earth plane, the physical plane, the gross, the dense, or sthula (Sanskrit).
Consciousness of the physical plane is part of the human experience. The physical plane is the densest of the spiritual planes and, like all spiritual planes, it functions according to law. As spiritual beings conscious of the physical plane, we operate according to the laws of the physical plane. Consciousness of higher planes empowers us to work more perfectly on the physical plane.

So what's this all about?
Why a website on cosmopsychology?
The term "cosmopsychology" is a relatively new one. It has been used to refer to astrology, psychological astrology, and predictive astrology, and to systems of spiritual growth that refer to levels of mind within a greater mind.
I have worked as a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified astrologer with over 40 years of professional experience. Because of my particular interests, skills, and professional training, I have chosen cosmopsychology to represent my particular collection of professional tools --
They include astrology, psychology, psychotherapy, transactonal analysis, gestalt therapy, cognitive therapy, hypnosis, meditation, alterned states of consciousness, karma, reincarnation, metaphysics, theosophy, new thought, esp, psychic phenomena, parapsychology, and transpersonal psychology, to name a few.
Searching for Answers
Like so many of us, my childhood wasn't an easy one, motivating me early in life to search out why some people sail through without a care and while others never catch a break. I wanted answers to all the "why's" of life.
I was especially interested in why some people treat others so badly and why some people seem to attract such painful experiences. Why do bad things happen to good people? Why suffering? Why evil?
In my search I have had many ups and downs, successes and failures--all of which were important lessons in one way or another. I continue to learn.
Of course, men and women have asked these questions for thousands of years. Philosophy, science, and psychology have ventured some answers. Theology has a special name for questions of evil--theodicy--which you can find here under spirituality.
New Age Tools
This site contains information about some of the tools (nowhere near all of the tools) that I have found especially useful in dealing with what has come my way. These tools have been helpful to many others. They are not useful in every situation, and they are definitely not for everyone.
Many of these tools are referred to as mind-body medicine. Almost all of them come under the heading of "New Age." New Age is an impressive name but a real misnomer -- every New Age thing I've ever encountered has actually been something used and practiced long ago by entire civilizations.
What I'm presenting here are tools for personal healing and self-empowerment. This content is merely the tip of the iceberg. If any of these topics appeal to you, please pursue them in depth. There are thousands of other sites on the web that present the same tools and topics, but none of these topics can be fully developed on a website alone.
